ABRSM Grade 5
Music Theory

Students must attain a pass in Grade 5 Music Theory before applying for grade 6, 7 or 8 practical examination of all instruments. The Grade 5 Music Theory course ensures that students understand different musical components in order to prepare them for achieving higher grades.

This course is intended for students who would like to apply for grade 6, 7 or 8 practical examinations as it is a must to attain a pass in grade 5 music theory in advance.

Students can choose from the two lesson duration provided based on their needs, the price is listed below:

45 minutes – $200

60 minutes – $250

Students are required to buy music theory books and exercise books according to their desired exam mode or language. Normally, the series of: Discovering Music  Theory is for those who wish to take the online music theory exam while the series of: Music Theory in Practice is for those who wish to take the face-to-face exam. Students are also advised to purchase The AB Guide to Music Theory, Part I. At the same time, teacher will also provide students with related self-made notes and exercises.
